GSSP virtual ks2 GYMNASTICS course

Date:  Tuesday 8th February 2022

Time:  9.30am – 11am

Venue:  Virtual Meeting - Teams meeting link sent to PE leads a few days before the course (link to be passed to candidates booked on course)

Info: An opportunity to discuss KS2 gymnastics lessons to help teachers develop their knowledge, understanding and the lesson structure of individual, pair and group gymnastics at KS2.  Supporting documents provided in the form of a lesson plan and SoW

Applicants:  GSSP members only (staff training event).  No limit on number of staff schools wish to attend the virtual course (please complete a separate online booking for each staff member attending)

Venue:  Shooters Hill College


Buffet lunch and refreshments (please email if you have any specific dietary requirements / food allergies)

  • Choice of practical involvement or observation session

  • GSSP CPD Course Certificate

AM - SEND Multi-skills Session (Choice of practical involvement or observing)

Staff participating - There will be practical teaching element involved in this session, which take place in the sports hall.  This will involve activities and skill-related drills, so please dress in appropriate clothing.

Staff observing  – There will be opportunities provided to observe practice, conditioned tasks and develop an understanding of the rules and regulations involved in the activity.  There will be no physical participation required if you are observing, just an opportunity to watch and take notes.

GSSP members – Included in annual membership.  Please book your free staff places onto the course visiting the 'Booking Form' on the website or by using this direct link to the staff workshop booking form https://www.greenwichssp.co.uk/form/?pid=8&form=417 

As a GSSP member there is no limit to the number of people you wish to send to any staff workshop but you will need to complete a separate booking form for each member of staff attending.

Candidates booked onto the course will be listed on a register at Shooters Hill College front gate, so please ensure you have secured a place on the course before this deadline to ensure you are on the candidate list (free online booking for GSSP members).

Limited onsite parking at the college is available, free parking on local roads around the college.


All teachers who complete the free primary teacher training course will receive an individual  resource pack and a £250 voucher (limited to one per school) to spend on equipment, or ten hours of team teaching support from an LTA Accredited Coach.

The course is designed to take 1-1.5 hours to complete. Teachers work at their own pace.
