Venue:  Heronsgate Primary School, Thamesmead Campus, SE28 0EA

Practical (Choice of practical involvement or observing)

Staff participating - There will be a practical teaching element involved in this session, which take place in a hall.  This will involve activities and skill-related drills, so please dress in appropriate clothing.

Staff observing – There will be opportunities provided to observe practice through conditioned tasks and develop a further understanding of physical education delivery.  There will be no physical participation required if you are observing, just an opportunity to watch and take notes.

Theory – Physical Education topics including the National Curriculum and top tips

Information to support staff delivering PE to help them to understand the PE National Curriculum in greater depth and top tips to support the delivery of high-quality PE, school sport and physical activity.

GSSP PRIMARY PE LEAD COURSE
 

GSSP PE Lead Teacher Course

Date:  Friday 28th February 2024

Time:  9.30am (Registration); 10am -3pm

Venue:  Team Sport London Docklands, 3 Herringham Road, Charlton SE7 8NJ

Included:  Refreshments and lunch (please email if you have any specific dietary requirements / food allergies)

  • Choice of practical involvement or observation session
  • Handouts, practical advice / guidance, PowerPoint presentation
  • GSSP CPD Course Certificate  

AM (10am-12pm) – Introduction to Team Sport Karting (Choice of practical involvement or observing)

Staff participating – Practical experience which will take place as individuals and within teams on the Go Karting track.  This will involve introduction to karting, and its availability and GSSP discounts available to members for a revisit.  Please dress in appropriate clothing and footwear!

Staff observing – There will be opportunities provided to observe activities and develop an understanding of the benefits that the centre has to offer GSSP schools (all ages and abilities).  There will be no physical participation required if you are observing, just an opportunity to watch and take notes.

Lunch (12 – 12.45pm) – Food provided, including vegan / vegetarian options.  Please email if you have any specific dietary requirements.

PM (12.45pm – 2.30pm) – PE and School Sport Training, Updates and Information

gssp own school cpd Opportunities
 

GSSP members have the opportunity to book CPD at their own school in gymnastics, dance and tennis as part of their GSSP membership.  This opportunities are availabe at no additional cost once you are a GSSP member.

PRIMARY TEACHER TRAINING COURSE - TENNIS
 

All teachers who complete the free primary teacher training course will receive an individual  resource pack and a £250 voucher (limited to one per school) to spend on equipment, or ten hours of team teaching support from an LTA Accredited Coach.

The course is designed to take 1-1.5 hours and can be run at your own school at a time that suits you and the course deliverer (Twist Fizz).
