GSSP PRIMARY PE LEAD TEACHER COURSE
GSSP Primary PE Lead Teacher Course with Activate Experience
Date: Friday 27th February 2026
Time: 9.30am (Arrival & Registration); 10am – 3pm
Venue: Activate (02 arena) & All Bar One (02 arena)

AM @ Activate, 02 Arena
AM Session (10am-12pm) – Introduction to Activate (Practical involvement)
Cost for 90 min Activate experience from approx. 10.15am – 11.45am
Staff participating – Practical experience (intensity dependant on individual effort) which will take place within teams playing Activate games. This will involve introduction to these activities, and the availability of the site for local schools to revisit. Please dress in appropriate clothing and footwear!
Staff observing – There will be opportunities provided to observe activities / games and develop an understanding of the benefits that Activate has to offer GSSP schools (all ages and abilities). There will be physical participation required but this can be low level (participants own efforts dictate intensity).
PM @ All Bar One, 02 Arena
Lunch (12.30 – 1pm) – Food provided, including vegan / vegetarian options. Please email if you have any specific dietary requirements.
PM session (1pm – 2.30pm) – PE and School Sport Training, Updates and Information
Information to support the development of high-quality PE, school sport, physical activity and teaching of physical education.

Candidates booked onto the course will be listed on a register at the venue reception, so please ensure you have secured a place on the course before the start date to ensure you are on the candidate list.
SCHOOL GAMES MARK WORKSHOP (TEAMS)
Date: Monday 9th March 2026
Time: 3.30 - 4.15pm
Venue: Online Teams meeting (link sent via email - please request link by emailing ian.goldsmith@shc.ac.uk if interested in attending workshop)
The School Games Mark is a nationally accredited award designed to provide schools with a government-backed award to publicly demonstrate their level of engagement in PE and school sport.

GSSP Sport premium action planning workshop (teams)
Date: Monday 1st December 2025
Time: 11.30am - 12.15pm
Venue: Online - Microsoft Teams
Workshop Details: Examples of sports premium action planning, including information on digital reporting.

gssp own school cpd Opportunities
GSSP members have the opportunity to book CPD at their own school in gymnastics, dance and tennis as part of their GSSP membership. These opportunities are available at no additional cost once you are a GSSP member.

PRIMARY TEACHER TRAINING COURSE - TENNIS
All teachers who complete the free primary teacher training course will receive an individual resource pack and a £250 voucher (limited to one per school) to spend on equipment, or ten hours of team teaching support from an LTA Accredited Coach.
The course is designed to take 1-1.5 hours and can be run at your own school at a time that suits you and the course deliverer (Twist Fizz).
