GSSP Y4/5 Tennis CPD Experience (Inspire) with FREE school ticket to The Laver Cup (practice session).

Times:  10.30am – 2pm (10am arrival)
Venue:  Shooters Hill College, SE18 4LD

Participants: Min: 7; Max: 30 children from Year 4 / 5
Tier:  INSPIRE - A targeted offer aimed at the least active or engaged young people. Strong emphasis on participation and trying new activities/skills or low-level competition.
Equipment:  Children to bring own water and appropriate outdoor clothing / footwear.
School Staff:  Minimum of 2 staff (1 first-aider - schools are responsible for their own first-aid).

Lunch – 30min break for lunch – Children can eat lunch within the tennis court area.

Event Focus: This tennis coaching experience will provide children and school staff with an engaging introduction to tennis through a range of practical skills, drills, and opportunities to participate in low-level competitive games.

The session will be delivered using a circuit-style format, enabling participants to rotate through a series of stations focused on developing core skills, applying these within conditioned practices, and progressing into mini tennis matches.

These stations are designed not only to introduce and develop fundamental skills, but also to raise the profile of tennis within schools and support its delivery within both the PE curriculum and extracurricular provision.

Staff attending the session are encouraged to engage in this as a CPD opportunity. By shadowing coaches during the practical activities, staff will develop their confidence, competence, and subject knowledge, supporting them to deliver effective tennis sessions within their own school settings.

Each school attending will receive 35 tickets to attend a practice day at The Laver Cup in the o2 (exact date TBC).

MAXIMUM OF 10 GSSP 2026-27 MEMBER SCHOOLS - FIRST 10 GSSP 2026-27 MEMBER SCHOOLS TO APPLY WILL BE ENTERED
